
Dixon Olutade Torimiro
Professor of Agricultural Extension and Rural Sociology.Dixon Olutade Torimiro (PhD) is a Federal Government Scholar and a full Professor of Agricultural Extension and Rural Sociology at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria since 2009. He headed the Department of Agricultural Extension and Rural Development from 2006 to 2008, and Coordinated Pre-degree Programme from 2017 to 2019. He was a Visiting Scientist at Cape Breton University, Nova Scotia, Canada (2013), Contract Professor at the Botswana College of Agriculture, Gaborone (2013-2015), and 2016 ECOWAS-AAU Fellow at the Department of Agricultural Economics and Extension, North West University, South Africa; and Intermational Extension Scholar in Residence at the Ohio State University, Columbus, USA in 2019. He has won a good number of research and travel grants including: CODESRIA, AAU/DFID, IDRC, ESRC.
Prof. Torimiro was a member of College of Research Associate, Institute of Natural Resources in Africa, United Nations University, Ghana in 2002. He also serves as Independent Evaluation Expert to European Commission (EC), Brussels, Belgium and Association of African Universities (AAU), Accra, Ghana. He is currently on the Board of Trustees, Crawford University, Igbesa, Nigeria and on the academic list of the Department of Agricultural Extension and Rural Development, Botswana University of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Gaborone. He is well researched and published in the areas of Agricultural Extension and Rural Community Development. He is happily married to Mrs. Mojisola Helen Torimiro and blessed with wonderful children.

Professor Torimiro loves to travel. He has travelled home and abroad to attend several meetups and conferences.
